Low in Laos

We made our best border crossing yet when we travelled from Thailand to Laos - the 5 minute boat trip across the Mekong River was amazing and we spent that evening watching the sun go down over Thailand.

Then we spent 3 days living in a tree house by night and zipping through dense jungle by day. No words or pictures can really sum up the thrill of the ride or the beauty of watching the clouds slowly dissapear in the mornings. We were lucky enough to be in a group who liked drinking the medicinal Laos whiskey and laughing A LOT!!!

After kayaking for two days in Luang Nam Tha and a paddy inducing puncture in a rice paddy we headed to Luang Prabang to gorge ourselves on pastries then took a bum numbing 8 hour boat ride to Nong Khiaw and Muang Ngoi, there we enjoyed stunning scenery, local football matches, cute kids, lots of caves, walking in the sunshine, cocktails, cards, and herbal steam baths
