After being at high altitude for such a long time it was great to head south where the air was much more breathable! The city of Arequipa was full of surprises, the Santa Catalina Monastery, serious restaurants, bad dancing to bad music, birthdays, roof top bars and more Pisco Sours then you could shake a Llama tail at!
In contrast the Colca Canyon and the surrounding villages was reassuringly rural, unbelievably beautiful, steep, condor-tastic and HOT! Luckily they served Pisco Sours there also.
